The Abbot of St. Markovia is not what he seems, and is almost certainly insane. He has however aided the Fables greatly, raising Breeze from the dead and promising to aid them further should they procure a wedding dress for the lovely Vasilka.

His acolytes are creatures known as Mongrelfolk: bestial humanoids which appear to be cobbled together from both human and beast extremities. They are fiercely loyal to the Abbot and serve him with almost a fanatical attachment.
